At about 2:00am, graffiti artist Guiterrez was caught by police tagging a building, and as they approached he attempted to run away. As the police car turned onto another street in pursuit of him, he suddenly came out from between two cars and was struck by the officer, which left him with critical injuries to his brain. It is not known for certain whether or not he had permission to paint the building.
