Friday, December 6, 2013A woman from Mount Pleasant died after her SUV crashed on a road in Montcalm County.
Adeanna Marie Sexton, 31, was driving north on Wyman Road near Lake Montcalm Road, south of Edmore, when she failed to negotiate the curves in the road, police said.
She lost control of her vehicle, which left the road to the right, crossed Wyman Road, and struck a tree. The impact was on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Sexton was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:11 p.m. Dec. 7, according to a news release.
She was wearing a seat belt.

Thursday, December 5, 2013Police in Montcalm County are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a vehicle whose driver is accused of hitting a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene.
Devon Lee Hollenbaugh, 20, was walking south on M-66 south of Holland Lake Road in Sidney, north of Sheridan, around 10:09 p.m. Dec. 6.
Police said a southbound vehicle’s passenger-side mirror struck Hollenbaugh as the vehicle drove by, according to a news release. The driver then drove from the scene.
Hollenbaugh was transported to Sheridan Community Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.
