A driver crashed along a busy commercial strip of the Upper East Side Monday, hurtling onto the sidewalk and shattering the front window of a business on Second Avenue.
The FDNY said a motorist lost control of his vehicle near 79th Street and Second Avenue at about 2 p.m. and crashed into the storefront window of Bond New York, a real estate office.
Two passengers in the vehicle had minor injuries, and the driver was taken to New York Hospital.
It's not clear how the driver lost control of the car. No charges have been filed.
Police say an MTA bus struck and killed a 45-year-old bicyclist in Manhattan early Sunday.
The BX15 hit Pedro Santiago near the corner of West 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem at around 1:30 a.m., according to officials.
Santiago was lodged underneath the front of the bus and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
Police say the bus driver has not been charged but an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
A 26-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by an ambulance while crossing a street in Manhattan and subsequently struck by another car, authorities said. According to police, Samantha Lee was attempting to cross West 96th Street between Broadway and West End Avenue early Sunday morning when she was clipped by the driver's side mirror of the ambulance, causing her to fall facedown in the street and be struck by another car. Lee, who lived nearby, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the ambulance and the other car both remained at the scene.
A SUV driver died after his vehicle crashed into a city bus in midtown, sending pedestrians near Bryant Park running for cover, authorities said.

The man, believed to be a building super or maintenance worker, was found in the elevator shaft at 331 Park Avenue South.
