Saturday, October 11, 2014A 69-year-old Kissimmee man died after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross U.S. 192 in a wheelchair. The fatal crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday at U.S. 192 and Oren Brown Road in Osceola County. Troopers said 73-year-old Ralph Ratledge, of Maryville, Tennessee, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 192 in his 2007 Lincoln SUV in the center-through lane. The 69-year-old man, who was not identified by FHP, was trying to cross U.S. 192 in a wheelchair. Troopers said he was not at an intersection or in a crosswalk.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014A 17-year-old St. Cloud High School student was injured after being hit by a car on his bicycle in St. Cloud, Florida. The incident occured around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning while crossing 13th Street. The student was conscious after the accident, but suffered from lacerations. He was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center as a precaution. Police say he crossed the intersection without the help of a school crossing guard and was not wearing a helmet. The condition of the student is unknown at this time.
