Man, 69, struck by vehicle driven by Ralph Ratledge, 73, as he was crossing US 192 in a wheelchair in Osceola County, FL

A 69-year-old Kissimmee man died after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross U.S. 192 in a wheelchair. The fatal crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday at U.S. 192 and Oren Brown Road in Osceola County. Troopers said 73-year-old Ralph Ratledge, of Maryville, Tennessee, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 192 in his 2007 Lincoln SUV in the center-through lane. The 69-year-old man, who was not identified by FHP, was trying to cross U.S. 192 in a wheelchair. Troopers said he was not at an intersection or in a crosswalk. The front of Ratledge's SUV struck the man, who was sent to Osceola Regional Medical Center where he later died.
