A crash in Owen County has claimed the life of a mother, Jamie L. Luthe, and injured her two children on Wednesday night. The accident occured around 8:20 p.m. on October 22 when the woman fell asleep while driving on US 231 near Deer Run Drive when she suddenly woke up and overcorrected, causing the car to roll into oncoming traffic. Her vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle, and caused it to catch fire on the side of the road, and she died at the scene. Witnesses attempted to put the fire out, but were unsuccessful until the fire department arrived.
