Tucson, AZJust after 10 a.m., a DPS officer was traveling on Interstate 10 at West Tangerine Road when he was involved in a collision with a semi truck. The officer had to be extricated from his vehicle using the Jaws of Life tool. The driver of the truck, Thilankas Silva, 41, was not injured. The officer's service dog, who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident, was not hurt.

Tucson, AZOne person died and two people were seriously injured after a wreck involving a semi-truck struck and SUV on Interstate 10 near Marana early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
A 39-year-old man was driving an SUV westbound at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday when it swerved for an unknown reason and went into the center median, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The SUV then rolled over cables in the median and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes, according to DPS.
