An Olympia police officer was parked on the 400 block of Fourth Avenue when he heard a car driving at a high speed. The car, a white Acura, lost control and hit several parked cars, including the officer’s car. The car also struck a woman in her 20s who was crossing the road near Jefferson Street. The 22-year-old driver of the Acura fled on foot. The officer was not injured and chased the man for eight blocks before losing sight of him behind a building. The driver was located after his mother, the registered owner of the Acura, was contacted by police.

The Washington State Patrol says a man was struck and critically injured Tuesday night while walking across Highway 103 in Long Beach. The patrol says 27-year-old Justin Lee Woods was flown to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland. According to the report Woods was in the process of crossing the highway when for some reason he stopped somewhere in the middle and turned back. He was then hit by a car driven by 56-year-old Richard Greer of Portland. Greer was not injured.
