Franklin County Office of Public Defense
The Mission of the Benton & Franklin Counties Office of Public Defense is to provide quality, cost-effective, legal representation to indigent and other qualified persons charged with criminal offenses, or otherwise facing incarceration or loss of liberty interest, so as to protect their Constitutional and other legal rights, educate them about the criminal justice system, and champion the interests of justice.
Franklin County Superior Court
Washington has 39 Superior Courts, one in each of Washington's 39 counties. Superior Courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction in Washington. A Superior Court may consider all civil and criminal matters occurring within a county's boundary. The Superior Court also has exclusive jurisdiction over civil matters in which the amount in controversy is more than $75,000, felony cases, estate and probate matters, family law cases (including divorces and child custody hearings), and juvenile proceedings. They act as a court of appeal for cases from the District and Municipal Courts.
Franklin County District Court
The Franklin County District Court is a Court of Limited Jurisdiction established by State statute. The Court hears criminal, civil, infraction, and miscellaneous cases. Criminal misdemeanor cases carry a maximum penalty of up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Criminal gross misdemeanor cases carry a maximum penalty of up to 1 year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Franklin County Legal Aid Society
Franklin County Legal Aid Society has the mission to provide Legal Assistance to qualified low-income persons who would otherwise be denied access to the justice system because of the inability to pay for the cost of counsel.
Benton Franklin Community Action Committee
The Crime Victim Service Center (CVSC) is here to help. CVSC services are available to all community members in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, Columbia, Garfield, and Asotin Counties in Washington State. CVSC service is available 24 hours a day to assist anyone who has questions or concerns about crime and the confusion that comes along with being a victim of crime.
