Raleigh-Durham, NCPolice expect Lake Wheeler Road at Lineberry Drive will be closed in both directions until late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
A passenger vehicle struck a pole supporting power lines at the intersection, according to police. The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m., bringing power wires down at the intersection.
Police were waiting on utility service crews to fix the line as of about 9:45 p.m. The affected stretch of road sits between I-40 and Tryon Road in western Raleigh.

Raleigh-Durham, NCPolice closed Old Wake Forest Road in the area of Falls of Neuse Road early Wednesday after an accident knocked down a power transformer and brought lines down into the street.
There were no reports of injuries in the accident, which happened about 6:30 a.m.
Duke Energy Progress crews were called to the scene to make repairs.
