Pierce County Jail
The Pierce County Detention and Corrections Center is a medium / maximum custody facility that consists of two facilities, the new jail and the main jail, confining over 1,300 inmates.

Pierce County Public Defender's Office
The Department of Assigned Counsel (DAC) is responsible for the delivery of mandated legal services to indigent persons accused of crimes in the Pierce County Superior Court; Pierce County District Courts; Municipal Courts in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Fircrest and Ruston; and Pierce County Juvenile Court delinquency proceedings.
Pierce County Medical Examiner
The Medical Examiner's Office operates by the authority of the laws of the State of Washington, for the purpose of making a determination of the cause and manner of death. The outcome of the work of the Medical Examiner is knowledge concerning deaths that are of forensic concern, which is knowledge needed to see that justice is done, public safety is improved, and public health is protected.
Pierce County Superior Court
Pierce County Superior Court is a general jurisdiction trial court with responsibility for civil matters involving more than $300, unlawful detainers, and injunctions; felony criminal cases; misdemeanor criminal cases not otherwise provided for by law; family law,including dissolutions, child support, adoptions, parentage, and domestic-violence protection matters; probate and guardianship matters; juvenile offender matters; juvenile dependencies, including abused and neglected children, children in need of services, at-risk youth, and truancies; mental illness and involuntary commitment matters.
Pierce County District Court
The mission of Pierce County District Court, as an independent and impartial branch of government, is to promote respect for law, society and individual rights; provide open, accessible and effective forums for dispute resolution; resolve legal matters in a just, efficient and timely manner and assure the dignified and fair treatment of all parties.
Pierce County Bar Association
The Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association website contains information for the 1200+ members of the Association, including the monthly bar news, calendar for the Bar, and continuing legal education seminars. You can find a host of helpful information about the volunteer legal services program, lawyer referral services, court system, and their organization.
Pierce County Crime Victim Support Program
The Pierce County Crime Victim Support Program upholds the rights of victims and witnesses of crimes committed in Pierce County. Specially trained advocates provide services to thousands of victims and witnesses every year.
Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services Program
The mission of the Volunteer Legal Services Program is to facilitate access to volunteer attorney advice and representation, as well as self-help materials and general legal information, for low-income individuals who have civil legal needs in Pierce County, Washington.
