North Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews were called to crash on Miller Bay Road near the intersection of Orseth Road at 4:38 a.m. Monday. Crews found a car that had crashed into a power pole.  One person was dead at the scene and a second person was injured. Firefighters attempted to get an Airlift Northwest helicopter to transport the survivor of the crash, but weather conditions prevented the chopper from flying.  The victim was transported to Harrison Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Three people hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Parkland Saturday were still being treated but doing better Sunday. The accident happened at 6:30 p.m. when a 1999 Lexus hit the group as they crossed Pacific Avenue at 134th Street South. A 54-year-old woman and two boys, ages 15 and 16, were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center. The woman and 15 year old are from Tacoma, and the other boy is from Spanaway.

A 27-year-old man died and two others were injured Friday night in a four-car collision on state Route 9 near Lake Stevens. The crash, which involved four cars, occurred just north of State Route 204 at approximately 10:45 p.m. A car headed north on the roadway crossed the yellow line and crashed into an oncoming car, head on. Two other vehicles then crashed into the wreckage. The causing driver, who became trapped in his car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a man in his 20s, has not been identified.

Fiona M. Regan, 40, of Tenino was driving a 1994 Isuzu Trooper north on Smith Prairie Road Southeast just north of 161st Way Southeast at 9:41 p.m. when she allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. The car crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic and hit a 1994 Isuzu Amigo. The driver of the Amigo, Linda H. Burkhardt, 55, of Puyallup, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she later died. Regan was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
