A man was critically injured Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by a car at East Fourth Plain Boulevard and Z Street, authorities said. At 2:27 p.m., a car struck the 69-year-old at a low speed, said Capt. Kevin Murray of the Vancouver Fire Department. The man was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with life-threatening injuries to his upper body, according to a bulletin from the Vancouver Police Department.
