Honolulu, HIThe horrific crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Farrington Highway near the Kahe Power Plant.
A young mother and her toddler were killed along with a third passenger in the car.
Family members say the person who was driving the car is the baby's father. He survived the crash and is recovering in the hospital. Police believe he may have been driving drunk.
There were two adults and two children in the truck all of them survived. The driver has a broken leg but the others no major injuries.

Portland, ORA Forest Grove teen pleaded guilty Thursday in connection with the crash that killed two young stepsisters playing in a pile of leaves in October.
Mario Echeverria, 18, was sentenced to 13 months in prison for hindering prosecution after the crash, according to the Washington County District Attorney's office.
Police said he and 18-year-old Cinthya Garcia Cisneros were driving home Oct. 20 when they hit and killed 11-year-old Abigail Robinson and 6-year-old Anna Dieter-Eckert, who were playing in the leaves near their home.
