City police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash. Officers were called to the 5600 block of Belair Road to a call that a pedestrian struck around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators said a Chevy Malibu was heading northbound on Belair Road when it struck the victim who was walking westbound in the road. Police said the victim, identified as 28-year-old Tasia Nicole Henley, was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:57 pm. Information on the identity of the Chevey Malibu driver or whether any charges have been filed has not yet been released.

Maryland State Police say a man was killed and another man was hurt when a car and a box truck collided on Belair Road in Fallston. It happened about 6:55 a.m. Monday. Troopers say Austin Robert Lentz, 20, of Forest Hill was traveling north when his Mustang crossed the double yellow lines. Police say Lentz’s car hit a truck driven by Donald Glen Ranger, 60, of Mount Wolf, Pa. Lentz was pronounced dead at the scene. Ranger was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The crash is under investigation.

A passenger was killed when the car he was in was hit in a side-impact collision Saturday afternoon in Rockville, Md.

Montgomery County police responded to an incident at Maryland Avenue and Great Falls Road. They found a Toyota Corolla with its passenger side damaged by an Oldsmobile Bravada.

Percival Bellamy, 89, of Kensington, was the passenger in the Corolla. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

A preliminary investigation showed the Corolla turned in front of the Bravada while trying to go left onto Potomac Valley Road.

Montgomery County police detectives are investigating a fatal collision on Old Columbia Pike early Saturday morning. According to police, they were called to a collision at 2:40 a.m. When they arrived, they found a red 2003 Infiniti G35 and a gray 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe in a head-on collision. Police say the Chevrolet Tahoe was driving south when the Infiniti, which was traveling north, crossed the center line into southbound traffic. The two cars collided head-on in the southbound lanes.

A 70-year-old woman was fatally struck on the Suitland Parkway in Forestville early Friday morning.

Police say the victim, an elderly woman, was crossing the Parkway around 5:45 a.m. when she was struck. The driver, who police say had a green light, stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities say the victim was walking in an area where it is illegal to do so.

Police have identified the man killed in a single-vehicle crash near his home in Brandywine, Md.

According to a preliminary investigation, 44-year-old James Townsend was heading northbound on Cherry Tree Crossing Road around 8:40 p.m. Thursday when he left the road near Old Indian Head Highway and struck a tree.

Police don't know why Townsend's vehicle left the road, but they are looking into whether speed was a factor in the accident.

Townsend, who lived on Cherry Tree Crossing Road, was pronounced dead at an area hospital

Four people were hospitalized after a serious crash at Joint Base Andrews. Police say the car slammed into a pole along Allentown Road around midnight Tuesday. One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck near a Chillum, Md., intersection Monday morning.

Police said the man was crossing Chillum Road near Queens Chapel Road at 6:20 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Chillum Road.

The victim was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived at the scene. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

It appears the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, investigators said.

An Owings Mills man was killed Sunday morning after his car crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on the Baltimore Beltway in Pikesville, officials said. Bennie Lee Shaw Jr., 34, was driving on the outer loop of the Beltway near Greenspring Avenue at 4:36 a.m. when his 2005 Audi A8 rear-ended a 1999 International tractor trailer, according to the Maryland State Police. Shaw was trapped in the car and was rescued by Baltimore County firefighters, but was declared dead at the scene, according to the Maryland State Police. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Two people were hospitalized following a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash Thursday around 7 p.m. According to Prince George's County Police, the effect of the crash on Oxon Hill Road caused a van to then crash into a nearby check cashing business. No one in the store was injured, and the two individuals who were hospitalized are expected to be ok. The cause of the crash has not been released.
