At about 9:00pm, a car with 16-year-old male passenger struck a bear that was in the middle of Highway 12. Though the passenger was wearing a seat belt, it failed to properly restrain him, and he was injured enough to warrant being flown by helicopter to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The driver of the car was not injured, and the condition of the bear is unknown.

Bret Cartwright, 25, and his 22-year-old wife were injured in a rollover crash after their car struck a dead bear on I-84 in Eastern Oregon. The couple were driving eastward with their 1-year-old daughter and family dog when the crash occurred at 11 p.m. Saturday. The bear was lying in a traffic lane next to plastic vehicle parts. Cartwright hit the bear and rolled into the center median after he had changed lanes to avoid hitting the vehicle parts. Cartwright and his wife suffered minor injuries.

The 2-year-old fell off a wagon when the horses carrying it spooked, and then was accidentally run over while his brother tried to free him in Sadsbury Township at around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. He was brought to the hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
