SC Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash at approximately 4:30 December 31 at the intersection of Highway 178 and Fairview Road. A Honda heading north on Fairview Road ran a stop sign and was hit by a tractor-trailer traveling on Highway 178. The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the crash site.  The victim is identified as Andy Anderson, 29, of Monetta, South Carolina. The accident is currently under investigation.

Larhonda Cambrielle Brown was driving on U.S. 231 when her vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. She and her two children were taken to an area medical center with they all died of their injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The accident is still under investigation.

Shortly before 5:00am, Ellzey was driving a FedEx 2006 International truck on I-85 when he struck a car with at least three people in it. The driver and two passengers in the car were injured, though to what extent is not yet known, while Ellzey was pronounced dead after being brought to a hospital. We will update this accident as more information is released and investigation continues.

A truck driver was charged with reckless driving after he hit and killed a pedestrian on the side of the Beltway on Monday morning. The driver, Anthony B. Custis, of Baltimore, was holding a cellphone while driving a commercial vehicle, and his truck had faulty brakes and other equipment issues. Custis hit and killed Najdi Hicham, 45, of Centreville near Exit 49 for Route 7 in Fairfax County at around 10 a.m. on Monday. Hicham was working for Fairfax Towing and Recovery to remove an abandoned car from the shoulder of I-495 when Custis drove onto the shoulder and struck him.

A 53-year-old Gig Harbor man was killed at the site of a truck crash Monday morning on U.S. 97 after losing control of his tractor-trailer and crashing into a tree. Daniel Higgenbottom was speeding too fast for road and weather conditions southbound on the highway in a 2002 Freightliner, when he ran off the west side of the road at about 4:40 a.m. 18 miles from Cle Elum.What money damages are recoverable in a death claim?

Five Kansas City people, three under the age of 3, died in a car accident on I-435 Saturday evening. Shante Hopkins, 24, Dominique Johnson, 17, and Hopkins three children 2-year-old Ja Riah, 1-year-old Ja Nijah, and 7-month-old Tay Shawn, died in a car crash when Hopkins' car became disabled on I-435 Saturday. Before they could safely exit the vehicle, a tractor trailer crashed into the car at high speed.

Jody Johnson and Justin Angel were riding in a car when a tractor-trailer struck them on the Ky. Hwy. 80 and Ky. 914 by-pass. The impact of the collision sent the car off the road. The driver of the car was 20-year-old Travis Strope, who suffered serious injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, identified as 34-year-old Timothy Fields, complained of back and neck pain, and both he and Strope were hospitalized.

At about 5:20pm, a 33-year-old woman who has not yet been identified was struck by a tow truck so hard that she became airborne before landing on the ground. The driver did not stop to render aid, and left the woman lying there in critical condition with a broken neck. Though the woman was taken to the hospital, she died of her severe injuries shortly thereafter. Check back for updates.

Alexander G. Tsiovkh, of Lawrence has been identified as the man killed in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Douglas County. Tsiovkh, 63, was traveling westbound on K-10 near Kasold Road at 4 p.m. in a 2005 Mazda Tribute when he crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Volvo semi driven by Mohamed Igal, 34, of Kansas City, Missouri. Tsiovkh’s vehicle came to a stop in the ditch. The semi exited the road and ended up in the south ditch. Igal was injured and was taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Police confirmed a fatal wreck on I-59 at mile marker 221 early Wednesday morning between an 18-wheeler and a minivan near Fort Payne.
