Frederick County police say a man is facing charges after he tried to drive his pick-up truck around railroad crossing gates and was struck by a MARC train. It happened Friday at about 5:30 p.m. at E. South Street and the CSX railroad tracks near Hamilton Avenue. Police say the train hit the truck and spun it into a pole. The driver, Frederick Dell Jackson, fled. Police say Jackson, who was later located, was driving on a suspended Georgia license and that he was charged with several offenses related to the crash.
