Marco Borghese, 70, of Cutchogue, was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center, in Riverhead, after a two-vehicle collision June 30, 2014, on Route 25A in Wading River. Suffolk County police said Borghese’s car "failed to navigate a curve in the roadway" and collided head-on with a delivery truck.

The owner of Long Island's first winery -- Castello di Borghese, originally Hargrave -- died in an auto accident Monday afternoon in Wading River, days after his wife died following an illness, officials and police said.

Police say a 54-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his Harley Davidson sideswiped a car and struck some trees on Long Island.

The crash occurred at 8:55 p.m. Sunday in Rocky Point.

Police say Russell Pallace was riding eastbound on Route 25A when he sideswiped a 2009 Cadillac. Police say he then headed westbound on Route 25A and turned south on Rocky Point Road where he attempted to pass other vehicles.

Police say he lost control of the bike, left the roadway and struck some trees.

The Mastic resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
