Marco Borghese, LI vineyard owner, dies in Wading River crash
Marco Borghese, 70, of Cutchogue, was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center, in Riverhead, after a two-vehicle collision June 30, 2014, on Route 25A in Wading River. Suffolk County police said Borghese’s car "failed to navigate a curve in the roadway" and collided head-on with a delivery truck.
The owner of Long Island's first winery -- Castello di Borghese, originally Hargrave -- died in an auto accident Monday afternoon in Wading River, days after his wife died following an illness, officials and police said.
Marco Borghese, 70, of Cutchogue, was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead after the two-vehicle collision on Route 25A at about 3:30 p.m., Riverhead Town police said.
His wife, Ann Marie Borghese, 55, died late last month after a battle with cancer, a family friend said Tuesday.
