Passenger killed, both drivers injured in car accident on the Heart of America Bridge in Kansas City, MO when an Impla entered the southbound lanes heading the wrong way and crashed into a Ford killing the Impala’s passenger, who was in the front seat, not wearing a seatbelt.  The drivers were transported to the hospital.

A 79-year-old Oak Grove man was killed Sunday night in a 2-car crash near Concordia when he drove the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 and his Pontiac struck another car traveling westbound. The 21-year-old driver of the second vehicle refused medical treatment.

A 75-year-old Richmond Heights man was killed after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 44 in Stanton, Missouri early Wednesday morning. Authorities said Roy Blair was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 when a car swerved to avoid him, sideswiping into a tractor trailer. Police said Blair continued driving, striking two other vehicles.

A man riding a mini-bike the wrong way on a one-way street Sunday afternoon slammed into a car at an intersection, knocking out several of his teeth and causing critical head injuries, police said. The man, who turned 21 Monday, was not wearing a helmet during the 1:58 p.m. crash at East 25th Street and Chestnut Avenue, according to police.

Two people, including a wrong-way driver, were killed in a head-on collision in Jefferson County on Tuesday. According to police, a driver exited Highway M and got on southbound Highway 21 going north. The driver, identified as 82-year-old Mary Burke, drove the wrong way for several miles before hitting another vehicle at Shady Valley near Imperial around 12:15 p.m. Burke, of St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the other vehicle, identified as James Sybert, 25, was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A Kansas City man is dead after a wrong-way crash Friday night on Interstate 70 and Highway 40. Police said before 11:30 p.m. a Silver Chevy Malibu entered the highway from an exit ramp and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-70. A semi-trailer truck was traveling east on I-70 and was unable to avoid the car resulting in a collision. Police said the driver of the car who was impaired by alcohol is in critical condition at an area hospital. According to police, the passenger, 35-year old Karl Silvey, died at the scene. The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries.

Two people are injured – one critically – after a wrong-way crash on southbound I-35 in Pleasant Valley Friday morning. It happened just south of 152 Highway around 4 a.m. Police stated that a car was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when it struck another vehicle. One person has life-threatening injuries. A second victim has minor injuries.
