David McGivney and Paul Rodrigues were riding ATVs on Bailey Street when Rodrigues was rear-ended by Mcgivney, causing both men to sustain serious injuries. Neither was wearing proper head gear. Rodrigues sustained severe head trauma and later died at a hospital. Mcgivney was charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, driving without a helmet, and for not having any insurance.

A 29-year-old man is accused of drunken driving, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest after he continued to ram into another vehicle after an accident in a Madison mall parking lot. Madison police were called about 2 p.m. Wednesday to a parking lot in the 200 block of Junction Road for a crash in which one vehicle, later determined to be driven by Ryan E. McGuire, continued to crash into the other vehicle, according to an incident report. The first officer who arrived at the parking lot saw McGuire's car revving, shredding the tire's rubber and damaging the asphalt.

A man who was driving the wrong way on the Niagara Thruway for several miles early Monday morning and then struck a roadside construction crane is facing charges of drunken driving, according to Lewiston Police. Douglas P. Pytlik Jr., 32, of Linwood Avenue, North Tonawanda, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.

Aided by a witness who followed a hit-and-run driver, police arrested a Youngstown woman on a variety of charges early Saturday stemming from an accident on the Robert Moses Parkway. According to reports, the suspect struck a car driven by a Youngstown man around 5:30 a.m., then drove away from the scene. A witness to the accident followed the fleeing driver, and sheriff’s deputies were able to stop her car on Blairville Road a short time later. Carole R. Rossi displayed signs of intoxication and was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.16, twice the legal limit, police said.
