At about 11:23pm, Crumpler was driving on Old Gunter Road when she suddenly veered off of the roadway and hit multiple trees. Even though she was wearing a seat belt, Crumpler died at the scene of the crash. Check back for more updates and more details on the cause of this accident.

It was about 1:00pm when Farmer was driving a pickup truck northbound on Highway 253 and began to veer off of the roadway. After colliding with a culvert and numerous mailboxes, Farmer finally crashed into a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is uncertain what caused Farmer to depart the roadway.

A 16-year-old girl not licensed to drive was the driver in a crash that killed a 17-year-old girl in Candler, Buncombe County. Celeste Perez, 17, of Waynesville, was killed in the wreck Sunday evening. The driver and a passenger, neither yet identfied, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Authorities say speed was a factor in the crash when the 16-year-old lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road and hit a tree. None of the occupants were wearing a seat belt and Perez was ejected from the car.
