Alexsandrina Hyer was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 97 at about 3 p.m. when she attempted to pass a semi-trailer, but failed to yield, striking a northbound car head-on. Hyer was injured and taken to Klickitat Valley Hospital. The four children that were riding in Hyer's car were all injured. A 12-year-old girl was flown to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old were taken to Mid Columbia Medical Center in the Dalles, Oregon, and a 6-year-old was taken to Klickitat Valley Hospital as well.

Two people were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-75. The incident began around noon when police recieved reports of a vehicle driving southbound in the northbound lanes. Not long after a crash occured at the Bristol Road overpass. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes as I-75 between Bristol and Hill Rds is expected to be closed for several more hours.

At around 8:50 a.m. a Mustang driven by Hannah Rae Kahler crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Kari Cagle head on. Kahler was pinned below her knees in the wreck and had to be cut free by firefighters. She was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with apparently serious but non-life-threatening injuries to her legs and chest. Cagle was also hospitalized. Occidental Road was closed for a few hours while investigators were at the scene.
