A 57-year-old man from Empire died early Tuesday morning when his truck rolled on the shoulder of Interstate 70 and burst into flames, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. at mile marker 86, which is about 30 miles west of Glenwood Springs and five miles west of Rifle. The truck appears to have swerved for an unknown reason, driven off the right side of the highway, rolled and burst into flames according to the CSP. Both the vehicle and driver, who was ejected from the truck during the accident, were burned in the fire.
