Denton Police on Monday released the names of the people involved in a head-on crash that left one person dead and two others critically hurt. The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Tessa Butler from Aubrey. She was killed when the Mazda in which she was a passenger was struck by a pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Hector Soto from Garland. The driver of the Mazda, Roger Bryant, age 49, from Denton remains hospitalized at Medical Center of Plano.

Morgan County officials have identified the man killed in a fiery crash early Thursday at North Bethesda Road and Ind. 42. Lawrence A. Illg, 56, Mooresville, was identified through dental records, according to a release from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department. The one-vehicle accident happened shortly after 5 a.m. in the 11600 block of North Bethesda Road. Col. Terry Keith, chief deputy for the Sheriff's Department, said the pickup crashed into a tree. The truck was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived, a dispatcher said.

A New Jersey State Police trooper was one of three people injured in a crash on Sunday morning along the Garden State Parkway. The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 65.1 in Stafford. Investigators say the trooper had stopped a vehicle. That's when another car hit the trooper's vehicle, causing it to hit the car he stopped. One of the cars caught fire, police say. Two civilians involved in the crash were flown to Atlantic City Trauma Center. The trooper was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

A man died after his motorcycle burst into flames in an accident Saturday night in Marrero. At 5:38 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Silverlily Lane and Fourth Street. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, who was identified as 28-year-old Mario Ginorio of Westwego, was traveling eastbound on Fourth Street when the accident occurred. Ginorio's motorcycle struck a 2006 Ford box truck, which was being driven by 47-year-old Patrick Derrick Lee of Harvey, investigators said.

Two people were injured, one seriously, when a tractor trailer and a passenger car crashed on I-95 Sunday night, flipping the 18-wheeler on its side and setting it on fire. All southbound lanes of I-95 were closed in the area of Brooklyn Bridge Road in Laurel, near the Howard County-Prince George's County line, according to police. Two patients were transported for treatment, one to a local hospital with minor injuries, one to a trauma center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The tractor trailer was carrying produce, police said.

Tampa Fire Rescue officials say two people were hurt in a two-car crash on Interstate 4 Thursday night. It happened near I-4 eastbound and North 22nd Street. Officials say one car, with a man and woman inside, was stopped on the side of the interstate with a flat tire. Investigators say a second car crashed in to the back of the stopped car, and one of the cars caught fire. Tampa Fire Rescue officials say one person in the stopped car was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries. The second person in that car was not hurt.

A person was killed in a crash on Interstate 40 in Seminole County early Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. The name of the driver had not been released Wednesday evening. The crash happened about 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 198 about 9 miles north of Seminole, the patrol reported. The driver was ejected and the car caught fire. It is not known if the driver wore a seat belt.

According to officials with the Hattiesburg Police Department, a downed tree and power line has claimed one life. A HPD Lieutenant stated that a tree fell on top of a car, causing some power lines to break. The incident one person is dead. The accident happened somewhere on Richburg Road, near Nellwood Drive, in the Hattiesburg city limits.

According to officials with the Pearl Police Department, an accident happened this morning at I-20 and Pearson Road. According to Pearl police, two single cab trucks collided. One truck rear-ended the other coming down the I-20 West exit ramp. The driver in the vehicle that rear-ended the truck was airlifted to UMC. His truck leaked oil and gas, and caught fire while he was inside. Firefighters had to cut him out of his truck. Crews were cleaning up the spilled chemicals. There is no word on his injuries.

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County claimed five lives early Sunday morning. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. and closed the northbound lanes of the roadway for over five hours. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report a 2001 Ford Expedition triggered the tragedy by driving south in the northbound lanes. The Expedition struck a 2010 Hyundai head-on just north of the Busch Blvd. exit in the center travel lane. The SUV caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames. The driver, later identified as Daniel Lee Morris 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.
