A ninth grade boy, Clay McCarty, 15, and junior Ivy Redmill, 17, were traveling to school in a white Honda Accord on Curry Highway, just a half mile from the school, when they collided head-on with the 18-wheeler. Reports say that the car, which McCarty was driving, crossed the center line before colliding with the tractor trailer. The Curry High School students were not wearing seat belts and were killed on impact, shortly before 8 a.m.
