At 7:30 a.m. Monday, a red Jeep attempted to avoid some lumber in the roadway of the Dixie Highway and collided with a van. The impact forced the van into oncoming southbound traffic where it struck a green Infinity head-on. The van rolled over in the roadway, coming to rest in the southbound lanes. At this point, a fourth car, a Cobalt, avoided the van but sidewiped the Infinity. Then, fifth vehicle, a Chevy pickup, swerved to miss the Infinity but struck the van overturned van. Kelty was transported to University Hospital, where he died.
