Man dies after rollover accident on Dixie Highway Monday(link is external)
Taylor said Kelty's cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle accident.
At 7:30 a.m. Monday, a red Jeep attempted to avoid some lumber in the roadway of the Dixie Highway and collided with a van. The impact forced the van into oncoming southbound traffic where it struck a green Infinity head-on. The van rolled over in the roadway, coming to rest in the southbound lanes. At this point, a fourth car, a Cobalt, avoided the van but sidewiped the Infinity. Then, fifth vehicle, a Chevy pickup, swerved to miss the Infinity but struck the van overturned van. Kelty was transported to University Hospital, where he died. Two other people were transported to University Hospital as well, while a fourth person was brought to Southwest.
After an injury car accident, take these steps to help the recovery process
When someone has been injured in a car crash, it's hard to know what to do to help. Injured people need appropriate medical treatment, but they also need to have their civil and legal rights protected.
After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including informing the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, and coordinating medical bill payments. These are difficult tasks to manage when someone is dealing with severe injuries.
