A passenger in a pickup truck was killed after a rollover crash on I-275 early Saturday morning. Kandice Michelle Tapia, 24, was the only one of five occupants who was not wearing a seatbelt, and the only one who was ejected and who died. The driver, 22-year-old Karen Juarez of Tampa, was seriously injured and transported to Tampa General. The truck was traveling north on I-275 near the I-4 interchange around midnight when Juarez lost control, swerved onto the shoulder and collided with the concrete barrier wall. The truck overturned several times, and Tapia was ejected.

A 24-year-old Bay area man was killed early Sunday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Tampa. Ian Andrew Harris of Tampa was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1 am. Harris was traveling north on his 2006 Yamaha Motorcycle when he failed to complete a curve just south of the Interstate 4 interchange. He crossed all northbound lanes of the roadway before crashing into a barrier wall on the right shoulder of the roadway. The motorcycle ignited and Harris was ejected over the wall and onto the street below.
