Tampa man killed in motorcycle crash on I-275

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Harris was traveling north on his 2006 Yamaha Motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve just south of the Interstate 4 interchange.
A 24-year-old Bay area man was killed early Sunday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Tampa. Ian Andrew Harris of Tampa was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1 am. Harris was traveling north on his 2006 Yamaha Motorcycle when he failed to complete a curve just south of the Interstate 4 interchange. He crossed all northbound lanes of the roadway before crashing into a barrier wall on the right shoulder of the roadway. The motorcycle ignited and Harris was ejected over the wall and onto the street below. It is not yet known if alcohol played a factor in the crash. The report states the driver was traveling at a high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle. Tampa Police assisted FHP with traffic control issues as two lanes were closed for about two hours for the investigation.
