Cameron Jared Kelly, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene and passenger Nikki Haire, 23, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition. The single-vehicle accident happened during heavy rains on Interstate 516 just before 6 p.m., Thursday. According to MAIT officers, the black 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by Kelly, was traveling east on I-16 and exited onto the southbound ramp of I-516. Kelly attempted to merge into traffic when he lost control and went across southbound lanes and struck the guardrail, coming to a stop on the truck's roof.
