Dwaine J. Traylor, 22, of Akron, was drag-racing with a female driver when his Mitsubishi spun out of control and struck her Corolla. He is being charged with aggravated vehicular assault, felony hit skip, drag racing, and driving under suspension. The female is in critical condition at Akron General Medical Center. A 17-year-old passenger was involved in the crash but sustained no injuries and has been released to his mother.
Despite wearing a seatbelt, a woman named Sheila Williams, 48, died on the scene and nine more people were injured when the driver of a Ford E350 lost control of the vehicle. The Econoline Van rotated, left the roadway edge and climbed up a concrete median before being overturned last Sunday, February 22. The injured occupants were taken to University Medical Center for treatment. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling too fast in the rain. This is already the ninth fatal accident for the Nevada Highway Patrol - Southern Command just for this year alone.
Joseph R.Carman, 54, of Plattsmouth, was injured in a car accident on Highway 1 east of 156th St, near Plattsmouth, NE, after being ejected from a Ford pickup truck. The truck left the road entering the ditch and then returned to the highway before crossing the center line nearly crashing into oncoming vehicles before swerving back into the ditch and rolling twice ejecting Carman who was flown by Lifenet to University of Nebraska Medical Center for serious injuries. No selt belt and alcohol are thought to be contributing factors.
A car full of teenagers rolled over after a 16 year-old passenger, a male, lit the driver's armpit hair on fire with a lighter. All five teenagers in the car were injured in the crash. Two of the passengers, girls ages 15 and 16, were thrown from the vehicle. None of the teens were wearing a seatbelt, and there was evidence Myers was driving too fast.
