A total of seven vehicles were damaged in a collision that happened at about 6 a.m. on Interstate 16 that began when a tractor-trailer struck an SUV, and then rolled over a passenger vehicle. The SUV then collided with a tanker truck, and the passenger vehicle burst into flames. Investigators are still trying to work out exactly what happened. Traffic was kept at a standstill for more than six hours as road crews worked to clear the wreckage, and the wreckage of an unrelated wreck several miles down the interstate. More information will be posted as it became available.
