A Bessemer man was killed in a morning crash on Interstate 59. Jeffrey Lee Allred, 31, was killed when the Chevrolet Silverado in which he was a passenger swerved into a median and crashed into a bridge-support column on Interstate 59 south of Bessemer. Allred was not wearing a seat belt, and he was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Charles Brandon Lemley, 32, of Pleasant Grove, was the driver.
