Nearly two dozen students were injured in northeast Missouri on Tuesday when a school bus overturned in a ditch on a rural road near the Illinois border, the state Highway Patrol reported. The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday north of Ewing in Lewis County. The injured students attended Highland Elementary and Highland High schools in the Lewis County C-1 District. Missouri State Highway Patrol Lt. Brian Anderson said the bus rolled over into a ditch on a two-lane road with no shoulders. Eighteen students suffered minor injuries and five were more seriously hurt, he said.

A 6-year-old Lynden boy was killed in a one-car crash Monday afternoon on Highway 11 near Bow in Skagit County. Zachary Conzo was riding in a car, driven by his mother, which left the highway on a hairpin curve, overturned and landed on its top about 40 feet below in Oyster Creek. The mother, 35-year-old Kristin Conzo of Lynden, was critically injured and flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A Madison boy was taken to a hospital Sunday night after being struck by a car while he was riding his bike. Madison police said the boy is believed to be 7-years-old and was struck when he pedaled out of a driveway and into the 1500 block of Trailsway. The boy’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. The car that struck the boy is described as a white Nissan.

Divers will search today for the body of an adult male who was in the truck with the boy and two others when it drove off a maintenance road on Billy Clapp Lake. The two other boys were taken to the hospital for treatment and are recovering. Two fishermen witnessed the truck go into the water around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Foreman said. The fishermen pulled the first two boys from the water, he said. A Sheriff’s deputy and a Fish and Wildlife official arrived on-scene and jumped into the canal to rescue the third boy, who was not breathing when he emerged, Foreman said.

A 2-year-old Ohio girl was killed Saturday after her father accidentally hit her with his car in a Walmart parking lot. The girl's 25-year-old father began driving forward too soon after his family got out of the car in front of a Walmart in Ontario in northern Ohio. The man's daughter had not gotten out of the way and was hit.

A toddler was hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash in South Fulton County on Friday. According to Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened after a Lincoln Navigator, carrying six people, traveling north on I-85 hit the median. Authorities say a three-year-old child was ejected during the accident and landed in the opposite direction. The child was transported to Egleston in serious condition.

The family of a little boy who was the victim of a hit-and-run while crossing Koenig Boulevard Thursday is asking for privacy and thanking friends for their support. Amir Russ, 2, was at the intersection near Spring Brook Village in Kingston just after 10 p.m. when he was struck. The driver sped off, but witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored vehicle pulling away from the scene and traveling southbound on Koenig toward Port Ewen. Amir was upgraded from critical to serious condition Friday night, according to a spokesman at Westchester Medical Center.

A woman and two children were hospitalized after being struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver in South Jersey this morning. After striking the trio at Line Street and S 5th Street in Camden, the driver of the other car fled, according to Camden County Police. The unidentified woman and the children were taken to Cooper University Hospital to be check out after they complained of pain, according to authorities. Police didn't reveal the extent of the victims' injuries. The victims were put in an ambulance and as police investigated a flipped over vehicle.

Authorities say three children were taken to a hospital for evaluation of minor injuries after an accident involving a school bus and a snow plow in Portsmouth. Police say the driver of a private plow failed to stop at the end of Middle Road and struck a school bus at the intersection of Union Street just before 8 a.m. Wednesday. There were as many as 55 students on the bus and three were taken to Newport Hospital. The uninjured students were put on another bus and continued on to school. The crash remains under investigation. No names were released.

Heartbroken family members are remembering an eight-year-old Kansas City boy tragically killed while playing outside his home on Saturday. Jordan Hale died after getting hit by a van over the weekend near Northeast Winn and North Bellefontaine. Saturday night Hale’s dreams were suddenly cut short. Police say the second grader and his six-year-old best friend, Jesus “Chewy” Gutiérrez, were riding on their skateboards downhill, outside Hale’s Kansas City home, when a van hit both boys. Hale died instantly. His friend was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, including head trauma.
