Wednesday, November 5, 2014A 27-year-old man was shot to death by a Yakima County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday afternoon following a high-speed chase that ended just west of the Yakima city limits. Shortly before 4:20 p.m., a deputy spotted a green Honda Civic driving east on U.S. Highway 12 that had been reported stolen. When the deputy attempted to pull over the car, it sped off, eventually reaching speeds of more than 100 mph. The Honda turned off the highway onto Ackley Road, and the car left the road, striking a fence.
