At about 1:50 a.m. on Western Kentucky Parkway Gwendolyn T. Till, 25, was driving a car west when, for unknown reasons, the car crossed the median and entered oncoming traffic. The car struck a semi truck and caught fire. The driver was able to put out the fire with his fire extinguisher. Gwendolyn T. Till was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by ambulance for treatment, and two child passengers in the car, 3-year-old DeAnthony Till and 5-year-old Arzaria Irvin, were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither child was wearing a seat belt.

Authorities report that James Hamilton, 28, was traveling eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway when he struck a pedestrian, identified as Kevin M. Shock, 50, of Central City, KY. The collision occurred just after 9:30 Monday night, near the Muhlenberg-Hopkins County line. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
