A Magnolia man in critical condition after two-vehicle collision about 4:20 p.m. Saturday in a on Calhoun Street. A Ford Ranger and a Honda sedan smashed into each other at the intersection of Calhoun and Harper, sending both vehicles into the ditch on the north side of Calhoun Street. The Honda struck a tree and the Ranger soon came to a stop. The driver of the ranger was severely hurt and taken to Magnolia Regional Medical Center. The identities of those in the accident are not released at this time.

Frankie Lemance was driving a green Ford pickup east on U.S. 64 near Lock and Dam Road in Ozark with his three children in the vehicle. Lemance appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel and crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a black Dodge pickup driven by John Gwatney. Lemance’s 8-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock in critical condition. Lemance’s 11-year-old son was not hurt. Lemance and Gwatney were in stable condition when brought to Mercy Fort Smith.

Latosha Nicole Leathers was driving north on U.S. 71 with two children in the car when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tractor-trailer. All three people were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, Marla Gayle Pipes, 52, was injured and taken to Mena Regional Health System for treatment.

Amy Yates was driving on Arkansas Highway 163 just after 9:30 p.m. when she crossed into the southbound lane and hit a vehicle, drvien by Brittany Smith, head-on. Yates was killed in the crash. Smith was taken to a hospital in Jonesboro in unknown condition. More details are still emerging about this accident. Check back for updates.

A 73-year-old woman was killed Sunday after a head-on crash in Knobel, Arkansas. Shirley Luttrell was the driver of a Kia Sportage traveling northbound on Arkansas 135 about 5 p.m. A 1994 Ford Ranger heading south crossed the centerline and collided with Luttrell's car head-on. Luttrell was taken to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, where she died. The driver of the pickup, 53-year-old Calvin Yancy of Corning, was injured and was transported to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

According to Arkansas State trooper Aaron Morphis, Christina Lancaster, 29, of Paragould, was driving a maroon Chevy Trailblazer south on Highway 49 when the incident occurred. She crossed the center line then hit an oncoming black Dodge Caravan driven by 66 year-old Joseph Mangrum. Lancaster and two other youths in her vehicle were injured, one of which was airlifted to the LeBonheur Hospital in Memphis. Mangrum was killed in the crash. One woman was killed and another injured in a collision on Highway 351 Friday evening. Kara Ann Cline, 23, of Brookland, was the driver of a 2001 Mitsubishi on Craighead County Road 762, when she failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Nikki Nicole Wilkes, 30, of Jonesboro, who was traveling on Highway 351. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A Trumann woman died Sunday when her car crashed into a culvert off of U.S. 63 near Craighead County Road 140. Morgan Stephanie Smith, 29, was the driver of a 2005 Dodge heading northbound on U.S. 63 when she swerved off the road. She was taken to St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, where she was pronounced deceased. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Lindsey Watson, 31, was traveling northbound on U.S. 63 when a 1998 GMC heading southbound crossed the centerline and collided with her at 1:43 a.m. Saturday near Pine Bluff. Watson was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The driver of the GMC, Jamon Brewster, 25, of Clarendon, sustained injuries and was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

At around 8 p.m. at the Village Park South Apartments in the 2500 block of East Street, a car crashed into the kitchen of one of the apartments. The one person inside the building was not injured, and the woman and young child inside the car were examined by paramedics. No word on what caused the crash. The apartment is no longer considered liveable.
