Franklin County Head-On Collision Leaves Children Severely Injured

Two children were seriously injured after a head-on collision in Franklin County late Friday.
 
 
Frankie Lemance was driving a green Ford pickup east on U.S. 64 near Lock and Dam Road in Ozark with his three children in the vehicle. Lemance appeared to have fallen asleep at the wheel and crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a black Dodge pickup driven by John Gwatney. Lemance’s 8-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter were taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock in critical condition. Lemance’s 11-year-old son was not hurt. Lemance and Gwatney were in stable condition when brought to Mercy Fort Smith.
