Four people who were flown to hospitals Wednesday night following a head-on traffic collision on Douglas Drive were in stable condition Thursday, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Oceanside police said. A 21-year-old man driving a Scion southbound on Douglas lost control of the car about 7:30 p.m. and it veered across a median, striking a northbound Nissan Sentra driven by a 40-year-old woman with a 17-year-old female passenger, Traffic Investigator Eric Anderson said Thursday.
