A car slammed into a packed Florida church just as its annual Easter concert was about to begin, injuring 21 people as it barreled through the brick outer wall and several rows of pews, Fort Myers police said.

The Lexus sedan struck the Second Haitian Baptist Church at around 8 p.m. Sunday, when there were about 200 people inside, Lt. Victor Medico said.

When officers arrived at the scene, church members used car jacks to lift the vehicle off of people who were trapped underneath.

It is with a heavy heart that we report that NBC2 Director of Meteorology Jim Reif passed away last night at 10:38 p.m.

Jim was involved in a tragic bicycle accident Sunday afternoon. While riding his bike on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, his bicycle hit a sign, throwing him to the ground. Jim hit his head on the curb and suffered traumatic injuries to the head.

First responders were able to get to the scene in a matter of minutes because the accident happened less than a mile away from the fire station. It's unclear what caused the accident.

Michael Giovanni Agosto, 27 of Delray Beach was arrested early Sunday morning after a crash which left his passenger Carlos Montalban, 32 of Delray Beach with critical injuries.

A 2003 Honda motorcycle and 2012 Honda Civic were both traveling north on US 41 about 3:21 a.m. Sunday. As the Civic was stopped for traffic, the motorcycle driver failed to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

A Florida pilot is lucky to be alive after a bird crashes into the front window of his aircraft, causing the glass to shatter.

And, it was all captured on video.

Rob Weber, an experienced pilot of 11 years, was flying 170 miles per hour near Page Field Airport in Fort Myers, Fla. when a bird crashed into the window of his single-engine plane.

Glass and blood were everywhere and wind whipped through the cockpit as Weber radioed air traffic control for help.
