Four juveniles were riding west in a car on West Frontage Road when the driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled. All four people were ejected, and two died at the scene of the crash. Veronica Verele, 15, was driving an SUV with three other young occupants on I-84, when she lost control of the vehicle for some reason and it began to flip. No one in the vehicle was wearing seat belts, and they were all thrown from the vehicle as it rolled. Arath Hernandez, 12, and David Martinez, 13, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Verele and Jesse Rodriguez, 12, were both taken to the hospital by helicopter for treatment of injuries. The cause of this tragic crash remains under investigation.

A mother and daughter were killed and five of the woman's other children were injured in a rollover car accident on a snowy interstate south of Pocatello. Rachel Hollibaugh, 38, of Dietrich, Idaho, was pronounced deceased at the crash site on Christmas morning, as was her 14-year-old daughter, Tanessa Hollibaugh. The five injured children were transported to a Pocatello hospital. Three children were treated and released, and a fourth was still at the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. According to investigators, the mother lost control of a Ford F-250 pickup and the vehicle rolled.

Makayla Muir, 18, of Kimberly, drove Toyota off the right shoulder of exit 216 of Interstate 84 near Burley, ID.  Muir overcorrected and rolled the vehicle.  Muir and the front seat passenger Eduardo Encinas, 16, of Jerome, used their seat belts and were not hospitalized.  The four backseat passengers were not wearing seatbelts and were taken to Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
