Rahma M. Hassan, 24, and Amina M. Jama, 30, were brought inside the hospital after their Suzuki Forenza slammed into a Metro Transit squad car as it responded to an emergency call around 10:30 p.m. The squad car was heading northbound on Park Avenue in response to a Metro Transit bus driver activating a silent alarm, when it crashed into the Suzuki traveling east on S. 8th Street. This caused the Suzuki to smash into the Hennepin County Medical Center building. The two Metro Transit officers were treated for their non-life threatening injuries.

Maria D. Rodriguez-Becerra, 22, of New Hampton, Iowa was westbound on County Road 29 in a Chevy Malibu with two younger relatives when the vehicle collided with a Ford Edge driven by 24-year-old Mary E. Johnson of Fairfax, Minnesota. Failure to yield at a stop sign at Highway 4 may have been a factor. A backseat passenger in the Malibu, 14-year-old Daisy M. Rodriguez, was killed. She was not wearing a seat belt. Rodriguez-Becerra and another Malibu passenger, 17-year-old Yesenia P. Rodriguez, were both wearing their seat belts and suffered non-critical injuries.

It was around 7:10 p.m. when police received report of a crashed pickup truck at the intersection of Fortman Street Northwest and 383rd Avenue. They arrived to find a man, identified as Tyler Levenhagen, 31, lying in a ditch. He was ejected from the bed of the truck when it crashed into a tree, and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries and waiting at the site for responders.

Two people died Saturday in a motorcycle-car collision south of Judson. Nicholas Bissette, of North Mankato, was traveling on a motorcycle east on Highway 68 around 3:15 p.m. when the vehicle collided with a car driven by Sara Dauer, 30, of Judson, who was traveling south on 519th Avenue. Bissette, 37, and his passenger, Corinne Claridge-Bollman, 38, of Mankato, were killed. Dauer and her two passengers sustained no injuries. Neither Bissette nor Claridge-Bollman were wearing helmets, according to authorities.

Helayna Nguyen, 19 was a passenger killed in car crash and the 17-year-old driver is in critical condition after a rollover in Waseca Saturday around 11:30 p.m. According to the State Patrol website, a 17-year-old female was driving the car on Highway 14 when the vehicle ran off the roadway and rolled, killing Helayna Nguyen and seriously injuring the driver.

Late Thursday morning, Andrew Taylor, 20, of Fergus Falls was northbound on Nicollet County Road 20 just north of 398th Lane when his 2002 Dodge Ram left the roadway, rolled into the ditch, and collided with a tree, according to the State Patrol. Taylor was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was pronounced dead.

Hannah Marle Mogard was driving on Highway 19 around 2:45 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway. She drove through a rode sign, down a ditch, and then struck a culvert before landing on the driver's side door.  Mogard was injured and transported to Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.

The fatal collision occurred at 12:03 p.m. on I-35E north at Minnesota Highway 36 near Little Canada. Robert Nelson, 23, was killed. A car driven by Owen Duncanson, 57, of White Bear Lake, was traveling north in the left lane of the interstate near County Road 36. Nelson was traveling fast, changed lanes, and hit the passenger side of the car. Nelson lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected.

Just after 5 a.m. a bus driver identified as 58-year-old Frank Polson suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of the bus. The vehicle went speeding out of control on W. Superior Street, striking a stop sign, a traffic signal post, a construction barrier, and another bus that was headed the other way. A passenger was killed in the collision, identified as Michael J. Mooney, 53, of Duluth. The other bus driver was Glenn Evan McGill, 59, of Duluth. Polson was treated after the crash but their is no word on his medical condition.

It was about 3:10pm when police received report of a child that had been injured in an accident on First Street NW, though when they arrived the boy had already been taken to the hospital, and the driver responsible was nowhere to be found. The 5-year-old victim was eventually pronounced dead at the hospital. We will add more details to this story as they become available.
