The collision happened when Matthew Bushnell, 34, was walking on Emmanuel Cleaver II Boulevard early Wednesday morning. After the collision the teen driver left the site, went home to tell her mother what happened. They called police and the driver turned herself in at a nearby police station. Bushnell is still in intensive care, with head injuries and broken bones. Authorities believe Bushnell was walking alongside a bike on a dark street with no working streetlights.  What victims of a pedestrian accident need to know:
