49 year-old Ian Paul Bubb was killed crossing Glenwood Road outside the crosswalk near Rockaway Parkway at about 8:20 p.m. when an eastbound maroon 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Florida license plates hit him. Paramedics rushed Bubb to Brookdale University Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life. Driver of the Jeep, Richard Williams, 26, surrendered to cops late Friday night and was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Man, 58, suffers broken arm after struck by hit-and-run driver on Genesee Street in Cheektowaga, NY

Around 3:21 a.m. a 58-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on on Genesee Street, breaking his arm. Police believe the vehicle was a 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado or a 2003 to 2006 GMC Sierra pickup, maroon/red in color, possibly with the passenger side mirror broken or completely broken off. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has seen a vehicle matching the description is asked to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 686-3580.

Winnifred Matthias, 77, of East Flatbush, died on Flatbush Avenue after being hit by a dump truck in Brooklyn, New York

Winnifred Matthias, 77, of East Flatbush, died in Brooklyn Monday after being hit by a dump truck. The accident occured around 12:25 p.m. when Matthias was walking on the double yellow line on Flatbush Avenue, in the middle of the road, between Atlantic and 4th Avenues. The dump truck driver remained at the scene. Matthias aws taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

A woman died upon arrival at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital Tuesday morning after being hit by an SUV while crossing the street. The incident occured when the woman was crossing Elizabeth Street in Chinatown, Manhattan around 4:00 a.m. The 64-year-old driver of the SUV, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, stayed at the scene. The driver hasn't been charged with any crimes.
