At about 5:45 a.m., 24-year-old Jonathan Long was driving a Daily News delivery truck southbound on Nostrand Avenue when he was t-boned by a green taxi driven by Tazul Islam, 26, at the intersection with Flushing Avenue. It is still unclear who had the right of way. The collision pushed Long's truck onto its side, and he was pronounced dead shortly after being brought to the hospital. A 58-year-old passenger in the truck was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 7:18 p.m., New York State Police responded to a two-car personal injury auto accident that occurred on Interstate 684. Investigation revealed that a maroon 2005 Buick Rendezvous, operated by Israel N. Albarracin, age 37, of Danbury, Connecticut, was traveling north on Interstate 684.  The Rendezvous struck a northbound 2011 Subaru Legacy, operated by 27-year-old Raymond P. Finney, of Carmel, in the rear passenger side quarter panel.

Four people were transported to the hospital, two with life-threatening injuries, following a collision Thursday evening on West Genesee Street in Camillus. Danny L. Lewis, 48, was driving a Ford Expedition east on West Genesee Street when he suffered a medical event that caused him to lose control of the vehicle, which then struck another vehicle. Lewis' vehicle then exited the road, hit a utility pole, and rolled multiple times. Lewis and the front seat passenger, 48-year-old Yvette Noble, were transported to Upstate University Hospital with critical injuries.

At around 10 a.m. Monday, 24-year-old Ashley Burris of Theresa and her 15-month-old child were eastbound on Silver Spring Road when their vehicle was overtaken by a fast-moving vehicle. Burris moved to the road’s shoulder to dodge the passing vehicle but struck a snowbank, which caused her vehicle to overturn. No further details are available at this time.

Authorties are investigating a collision on Saturday at Northway exit 10 that has left a driver seriously injured. The collision occured when a car swerved from the left lane of the road to the shoulder and overturned several times. The driver was rescued from the vehicle by firefighters. We will update this story as more information becomes available.

Michelle Heath was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox on Interstate 88 eastbound around 11:25 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle on the slippery, icy road. Her car entered a barrel roll and crashed, trapping her inside until firefighters arrived to extricate her. She was taken to Wilson Hospital for a medical evaluation. This accident is still under investigation.

Donna M. Kline and an unidentified relative were riding on Griffith Road when her car struck a pothole, causing the vehicle to spin out of control. The car overturned in a ditch on the shoulder of the road. Both were taken to Noyes Hospital in Dansville for the treatment of their injuries, deemed non-life threatening.

Tammy Jenkins was driving a school bus on Milan Road at around 7:40 a.m. when she suffered from a medical condition, causing the bus to leave the road and strike two trees. There were 30 students aboard Bus 116 that morning, and eight of them recieved minor injuries and were transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for evaluation. The students were a mix of elementary and middle school students. Traffic was detoured for several hours. Students that were not taken to the hospital were taken to Harlan Rowe Middle School until their parents could be contacted.

Chloe E. Wilson was driving east on Old DeKalb Road when her wheels hit the muddy shoulder of the road, causing her to lose control and strike a telephone pole. She managed to escape only with cuts on her hands. The accident occured around 2:45 p.m.
