On Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at approximately 8:45 a.m., State Police responded to Interstate 87 in the area of mile post 24.8 northbound in the Town of Ramapo for a jackknifed tractor-trailer across all lanes of travel. A preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2013 Freightliner operated by Christopher J. Luckett, 47, of Louisville, KY was driving northbound when he lost control of the tractor-trailer and struck the guide rail and earth embankment on the east shoulder. The tractor trailer subsequently came to rest across all northbound lanes, and though the trailer was empty, 100 gallons of diesel leaked from its tanks after the crash. Luckett was transported to Good Samaritan hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He was issued tickets for Moving from Lane Unsafely, Driving Across Hazardous Markings and No Seatbelt.
