An 18-year-old woman was killed and a 7-year-old boy critically injured in a head-on collision near Oregon City Friday evening. A Saturn coupe crashed with a Hummer H3 on South Redland Road at 6 p.m. The investigation showed the Saturn swerved into the oncoming lane. It's driver, Madison Kealoha West, 18, was transported to a local hospital where she died.  A 7-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Hummer was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to a hospital where he is in critical condition.

Two people were killed in a head-on collision near Woodburn, Oregon, on French Prairie Road NE near Le Brun Road just before 7 a.m. Thursday. The drivers have been identified as 45-year-old Leora Casey of Sherwood and 19-year-old Kyle Sanders of Gresham. Investigators said Casey attempted to pass another vehicle in a passing zone as she headed southbound, but she was not able to get back into her lane in time and she crashed head-on into Sanders' northbound car. Casey's car caught fire following the collision. Witnesses tried to put out the fire but were unable to.

Taft High 7-12 senior Cayden Thomas Fitch, who recently was honored as an Eagle Scout and was bound for the U.S. Navy upon graduation, was killed Friday in a head-on traffic accident on Highway 22 about three miles west of Dallas. According to Oregon State Police (OSP), Fitch, 18, was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger pickup with his passenger/father, Bryan Fitch, 43, an OSP trooper out of Newport Area Command who was off duty when the crash occurred. Cayden Fitch was pronounced dead at the scene. His father was transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital with serious injuries.
