Michael Berder and his child passender were flown to hospitals with serious injuries after an incident in South Strabane Township. Berder was traveling westbound on Route 70 when he swerved twice into Jenna Tressler, who attempted to pass him and then lost control of the vehicle, traveling through a guardrail and rolling several times down a hill. Berder and his passenger were not wearing their seatbelts and are being treated for their injuries.

Before 7:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Thomas Muir, 25, was driving a GMC pickup in the northbound lanes of Route 100 when he slammed into a Honda Odyssey carrying two teenagers and four adults. The teenagers, Miles Hannagan and Charlotte Hannagan, were wearing seat belts but were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Their parents suffered serious injuries and were taken to Paoli Hospital, where they remain in the ICU. Two other adults in the Honda were treated and released. Muir was not harmed, and he has been charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI and related offenses.

Homicide-by-vehicle charges have been filed against a Lancaster man following a three-vehicle crash Saturday. According to reports, Carlos R. Garcia, 33, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death while not properly licensed, endangering the welfare of children, reckless driving and driving while under suspension – DUI related. Reports indicate the crash occurred around 1:20 p.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of E. King St., Lancaster, when Garcia struck the rear of another vehicle.
